Press Forward

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 3:14

These past 18 months have been an incredible whirlwind. No one could have anticipated what the years 2020-2021 could bring. Only God knew how things would change. In light of all the uncertainty, we’re so encouraged by the way our church and school families have pressed forward.

Every storm passes! And we know that this too shall pass. After a period of quarantine, isolation, vaccines, and masks you may feel fearful and hopeless. We are instructed in God’s Word to press forward.

Looking at crises as opportunities to rethink and reorganize our priorities will prove beneficial. The experience of the coronavirus does not have to remain a traumatic and overwhelming experience that marks us for life. On the contrary, it can be an excellent opportunity to exercise our resilience — that is, to grow in the face of adversity. Press forward.

Crises bring opportunities for growth that are not always possible in other conditions. A good analogy of our adversity is a diamond: the beauty of the diamond comes from the extreme experience of pressure and heat. The same is true for us. We will emerge stronger from this situation and the complex challenges we have faced and are still facing. Let’s focus on a future that is filled with hope and press forward.

The administrators, teachers, and staff of Westwood Christian have been doing a remarkable job on campus but we know that we could never get to where we are today without the parental support. We want to thank you for being resilient and patient through all of the hurdles and challenges. Continue to press forward!
