Do we want good children or Godly children?

This question lies at the heart of our true desire for our children. In the midst of a secular society, it is easy to leave God out of the training of our children. In Deuteronomy chapter 5, Moses was speaking to the nation of Israel about the 10 commandments that were given to him by God. Notice that they were not just something to put up in their homes and be worshiped, but they were to be lived out in the lives of the people. As James says, they were “to be doers of the word and not hearers only." (James 1:22)

In Deuteronomy 6:7, Moses says that parents are to teach God’s Word: "And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up." The Christian School compliments what parents are doing in the home. "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)
