The two-year-old program meets the need of the whole child. Organization, habit training, and socialization are balanced with the introduction to many new spiritual and academic concepts during the year. This year is so foundational to the development of your child. As they come to school each morning we want them to learn in a way that is fun, creative, and developmentally appropriate. Westwood Christian uses the ABeka Curriculum. Our classroom time is teacher directed. Here are a few of the areas emphasized during the year:
The three-year-old pre-kindergarten is an academic program. Westwood Christian uses the ABeka Curriculum in the preschool classes. During the class time the children will be introduced to the following:
In order to enter the three-year-old program, each child must be potty trained.
Many children who complete their preschool education at Westwood Christian Preschool go above and beyond the basic capabilities that are required for kindergarten entrance. Many kindergarten programs expect students to enter with the ability to recognize letters and numbers, trace and cut with scissors, and have social skills such as the ability to follow classroom rules and obey authority. In fact, many pre-kindergarten students can read simple one- and two-vowel words and even sentences. Most students can clearly write their name as well as many other words and numbers. Classroom rules are based on Biblical principles such as kindness, respect, and obedience.

The mission of the S.T.R.I.V.E. program is to equip students with varying learning differences. The student will acquire innovative strategies and tools which will enable them to obtain individual victories in their educational journey. We are able to obtain this objective through our partnership with 1 Child a Time. As a school, we provide minor classroom accommodations for students in this program.
1 Child At A Time educates children with learning difficulties by applying the academic components of reading, math and writing. We equip the student with tools that establish life-long learning while building competence and confidence.
Educational Therapy improves thinking, learning and meets the individual needs of students who learn differently. Emphasis is placed on auditory, visual processing and thinking using techniques established by the National Institute for Learning Development.

Band, choir, and art are an integral part of our students' creative development. They will develop vocal, instrumental, and artistic skills to use professionally, recreationally, or in any other capacity. These abilities are applied in our chapel worship team, band and choir concerts, and art expos. Fine arts enrich our core classes and provide a complete, well-rounded education.
